Sometimes called "Amazon stone," mint green amazonite is a mineral species in the feldspar group, a hard stone with a medium polish. The mint color can vary from semitranslucent to opaque. Amazonite is named after the Amazon area in Brazil where it was originally discovered. It is associated with deposits of granite and quartz and is found in parts of the USA, Norway, Canada, Russia, India, Madagascar, Namibia and Tanzania.
