Collectable sphere is made of shungite, a non-crystalline mineraloid that contains a large amount of carbon as well as fullerenes, which are antioxidants. Once found only in the Karelia area of Russia, other sources include Austria and India. It has traditionally been used to heal, purify water and protect the body from electromagnetic radiation--hence its use as a cell phone accessory. According to metaphysical beliefs, shungite (or tulikivi stone) is also believed to deflect bad luck and amplify mental energies. Black carbon residue may rub off of stone over time.
