About the author: Anat Silvera has loved jewelry since she was a little girl growing up in Los Angeles. Before and after college she studied with artists and craftsmen, apprenticing as a metalsmith and learning how to create fine beadwork. Anat has exhibited and sold her work all over the U.S., including in an exhibit as a featured artist at the Oakland Museum of Art Collectors Gallery. Anat is a member of Northern California Enamel Guild and the Enamelist Society.

She and her husband, Joe Silvera, operate a teaching studio in Berkeley, California, where they specialize in sharing home-friendly approaches to metalsmithing and enameling for jewelry designers, beadworkers and hobbyists. They also team-teach at other venues including the Bead&Button® Show and several BeadFest locations.
