Have a question about this item?
Spinel is a natural gemstone that comes in a range of colors and has been confused with ruby, sapphire, garnet, amethyst and topaz. Until 150 years ago, red spinel was classified as ruby. The main deposits are in Sri Lanka, but are also found in New Jersey. Spinels are believed to be useful for stimulating chakra based on which color is present, and as a group are known for their ability to restore trust and faith in the universe. Materials can include black spinel, pink spinel, red spinel and more. Sizes, shapes and colors may vary with handcrafted items. Individual bead string varieties are fixed.
