Favorite Charity: The Angel Foundation

A dear friend of mine, Jeanne, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Inspired by Jeanne's cancer journey through a double mastectomy, 16 weeks of chemotherapy and 34 radiation treatments, the first bracelet "Beating Breast Cancer" was designed and the company Beads 2 Treasure was founded. Witnessing her journey and others at her clinic gave me a glimpse of what cancer patients go through. Jeanne took all her breast cancer treatments at Minnesota Oncology Hematology where the Angel Foundation was founded. I wanted to raise money and awareness for breast cancer in honor of Jeanne so we met and talked with the founder of the Angel Foundation.

The Angel Foundation supports adults and families who are touched by cancer by focusing on the personal day-to-day needs and necessities of cancer patients. The Angel Foundation provides emergency financial assistance to those who need help with rent, groceries, gas, utility bills, etc. while they are being treated for cancer. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of every cancer bracelet in the Beads 2 Treasure "Jewelry for a Cause" line is donated to the Angel Foundation for use in the emergency financial assistance program. I like knowing that the donations given to the Angel Foundation by Beads 2 Treasure will be used to help someone who needs financial assistance rather than being used for cancer research. There are currently five cancer bracelets in the Beads 2 Treasure "Jewelry for a Cause" line.
