Earrings with Swarovski Crystal Beads, Glass Beads and Hill Tribes Fine Silver Beads

Delightful dangle earrings reminiscent of snowdrop Christmas flowers are simple and fun to make. Elegant and classical, this quick design is ideal for group gift-giving, beading classes and craft fair sales.
STEP 1
String onto one silver-plated headpin:
  • 4x1mm sterling silver rondelle bead
  • Sea "opal" glass rondelle bead
  • Rainbow light green seed bead
  • Hill Tribes Fine silver flower bead cap
  • 4x1mm sterling silver rondelle bead
  • 6mm crystal clear AB Swarovski faceted round
  • 4x1mm sterling silver rondelle bead
  • Small transparent purple round bead
Design Note: After the seed bead is strung onto the headpin, it is not visible within the finished earring design. It is used to hold the sea opal rondelle in place within the Hill Tribes flower bead cap.
STEP 2
Using the round-nose pliers, grasp the headpin above the last bead strung onto the headpin. With your free hand, bend the top of the wire over the barrel of the pliers, to form a 90 degree angle.
STEP 3
Place the pliers into the angled section, vertically, so one barrel is above and one is below the wire. Bring the wire up and over the top barrel of the pliers so the wire is now facing down at an angle.
STEP 4
Reposition the pliers so they are horizontal again, with one barrel in the loop and one out and to the right. With chain-nose pliers, or your free hand, grasp the tip of the wire and direct it behind the length of wire extending below the loop you just created.
STEP 5
Using your non-dominant hand, grip across the loop with a pair of chain-nose pliers. Using your dominant hand, with a pair of flat-nose pliers or chain-nose pliers, grasp the tip of the wire and wrap it around the straight length of wire above the beads, starting from below the loop and working toward the beads, making approximately three tightly-wound wraps. Trim any excess wire, then press in the cut end with chain-nose pliers.
STEP 6
Using the chain-nose pliers, grasp the open side of the loop on the earwire and gently twist open. Hang the string of beads on the loop and gently twist the loop closed.
STEP 7
Repeat Steps 1 - 6 to make a second earring.
