STEP 1
Using the scissors, cut four 40-inch strands of assorted color hemp. Cut forty 10-inch strands of assorted color hemp.
STEP 2
Gather the four strands of 40-inch assorted color hemp and even up the ends. Place a small amount of glue in the end of the gold-plated cord coil, and then place the coil over the four strands of hemp. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, gently bend the end of the coil down around the strands of hemp.
STEP 3
Using all four strands, tie an overhand knot just below the end of the coil.
STEP 4
Separate one length of hemp from the other three. String onto the single strand, one 8mm olive glass druk bead.
STEP 5
Bring the four strands of hemp back together. Tie an overhand knot approximately 1-inch from the previous knot.
Repeat Step 4 and 5, sixteen times for a total of seventeen sets, randomly placing one 8mm metal glass spectra bead, 8mm olive glass druk bead, 8mm iris brown fire-polished bead, 8mm light bronze fire-polished bead, 8mm copper luster fire-polished bead or 8mm olivine fire-polished bead, between knots placed at 1-inch intervals.
STEP 6
Tie an overhand knot after the last 8mm bead. Cut the four strands of hemp to 1/2-inch after the last knot.
STEP 7
Place a small amount of glue in the end of a gold-plated cord coil, then place the coil over the four strands of hemp. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers gently bend the end of the coil down around the strands of hemp.
STEP 8
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 4mm jumpring. Pass the open ring through the loop on one cord coil end attached to half of the strand and the loop on one half of the clasp. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach the strand to the second half of the clasp.
STEP 9
Use an overhand knot to tie two sets of two pieces of 10-inch hemp along the necklace, working between the fifth knot from each half of the clasp.
STEP 10
Add one or two beads, in a random pattern, to the center of each of the hemp tassels. Tie an overhand knot under the bead to hold it in place on the cord.
STEP 11
Add one drop or bell, in a random pattern, to the bottom of some of the hemp tassels. Tie a square knot through the drop to hold it in place on the cord.
