Single-Strand Necklace with Czech Glass Beads, Celestial Crystal® Beads and Acrylic Crackled Beads

Focal Piece

STEP 1
String one 32mm flat round red crackle acrylic bead onto an eyepin. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire, creating a beading link.
STEP 2
Using two pair of chain-nose pliers, open an 8mm jumpring. Pass it through a loop on the beading link. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach an 8mm jumpring to the opposite loop.
STEP 3
Using flush-cutters, cut three 12-inch lengths of black waxed cotton cord.
STEP 4
Place the ends of the three 12-inch lengths of cord together. Make a larkshead knot to attach the cords to the 8mm jumpring on one side of the beading link, creating six tassels.
STEP 5
Separate the first set of cords. String one square frost black seed bead onto the first tassel.

String one square frost black seed bead, one square frost red seed bead, one square frost black seed bead and one square frost red seed bead onto the second tassel.

Bring the two tassels back together. String onto both tassels: one 6mm round silver-plated bead, one 12mm round black crackle acrylic bead, and one 6mm round silver-plated bead. Tie an overhand knot under the last bead to hold the beads in place.
STEP 6
Separate the second set of cords. String one square frost red seed bead and one square frost black seed bead onto the first tassel.

String one square frost red seed bead, 5mm round silver-plated bead, one square frost black seed bead and 5mm round silver-plated bead onto the second tassel.

Bring the two tassels back together. String onto both tassels one 12mm round red crackle acrylic bead, and one 6mm round silver-plated bead. Tie an overhand knot under the last bead to hold the beads in place.
STEP 7
Separate the third set of cords. String three square frost black seed beads onto the first tassel.

String one 6mm round silver-plated bead onto the second tassel.

Bring the two tassels back together. String onto both tassels one 8mm round silver-plated bead, one 12mm round red crackle acrylic bead and one 6mm round silver-plated bead. Tie an overhand knot under the last bead to hold the beads in place.
STEP 8
Cut a 7-1/2 length of cotton cord. Position one end against the tassels, leaving a 3-inch tail. Wrap the remaining cotton cord around the tassels, creating 3-4 neat revolutions. Tie the two ends together, tuck the end into the wraps from behind so it is hidden. Trim excess cording from the ends.

Body of the Necklace

STEP 9
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 4.5mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the toggle portion of the clasp. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a 4.5mm jumpring to the toggle ring portion of the clasp.
STEP 10
Using flush-cutters, cut two pieces of midnight black Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire, each 30 inches in length.
STEP 11
String the first length of wire through the unembellished 8mm jumpring on the beading link. Bring the two ends of the beading wire together.

String onto both wires one black crimp bead. Place the crimp approximately 1/4 inch from the jumpring, creating a nicely formed loop around the jumpring.

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp bead.
STEP 12
Bring the two strands of wire together. String onto both beading wires one 6mm round red opaque glass bead and one 12mm round red crackle acrylic bead.

Separate the wires and string one 8mm round black faceted crystal on the second strand.

Bring the two strands of wire together. String onto both wires one crimp bead. Place the crimp bead 1-1/2 inches above the previous crimp. Crimp the crimp bead. Using chain-nose pliers, gently close a 4mm round crimp cover over the crimp.
STEP 13
Bring the two strands of wire together. String onto both beading wires one 12mm round red crackle acrylic bead.

Separate the strands. String onto the second wire one 6mm round opaque red glass bead.

Bring the two strands of wire together. String onto both beading wires one 5mm round silver-plated bead.

Separate the strands. String onto the first strand one 12mm round black crackle acrylic bead. String onto the second strand one crimp bead and one 10mm round red opaque glass bead. Crimp the crimp bead 2 inches above the previous crimp.

Bring the two strands of wire together. String onto both wires one crimp bead. Place the crimp bead 3/4 inch above the previous crimp. Crimp the crimp bead. Place a crimp cover over the crimp.
STEP 14
Separate the strands. String onto the first strand one 6mm round red opaque glass bead. String onto the second strand one 8mm round silver-plated bead.

Bring the two strands of wire together. String onto both wires one crimp bead. Place the crimp bead 3/4 inch above the previous crimp. Crimp the crimp bead. Place a crimp cover over the crimp.
STEP 15
Separate the strands. String onto the first strand one 12mm round red crackle acrylic bead. String onto the second wire one 8mm round black faceted crystal.

Bring the two strands of wire together. String onto both beading wires one 6mm round silver-plated bead.

Separate the strands. String onto the second strand one crimp bead and one 12mm round black crackle acrylic bead. Crimp the crimp bead 1-3/4 inches above the previous crimp. Place a crimp cover over the crimp.
STEP 16
Bring the two strands of wire together. String onto both wires 6mm round red opaque glass bead.

Separate the strands. String onto the first strand one 10mm round red opaque glass bead.

Bring the two strands of wire together. String onto both wires one crimp bead. Place the crimp bead 1-1/2 inches above the previous crimp. Crimp the crimp bead. Place a crimp cover over the crimp.
STEP 17
Separate the strands. String onto the first strand one 8mm round black faceted crystal.
STEP 18
Bring the two strands of wire together. String onto both wires one crimp bead and the jumpring on the toggle portion of the clasp. String both wires back through the crimp bead. Crimp the crimp bead. Place a crimp cover over the crimp.
STEP 19
Repeats Steps 11 - 18 to create the second half of the necklace.
