Multi-Strand Lariat-Style Necklace and Earring Set with Turquoise Gemstone Beads, Coral Beads, Antiqued Silver-Plated Brass Chain and Accu-Flex® Beading Wire

Necklace

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters, cut the following:
  • One 48-inch and one 50-inch length of antiqued silver-plated 5x3.5mm cable chain
  • Six 48-inch lengths of Accu-Flex nickel and titanium, black 0.016-inch beading wire
STEP 2
String one 4mm round red coral bead onto a 1-inch 24-gauge headpin. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire, creating a 4mm round red coral bead drop.

Repeat to create the following:
  • Eight 4mm round red coral bead drops
  • Six 6mm faceted round turquoise bead drops using one 6mm faceted round turquoise bead and one 1-inch 21-gauge headpin
  • One 6mm round turquoise bead drop using one 6mm round turquoise bead and a 1-inch 21-gauge headpin
STEP 3
Match up the ends of all six 48-inch strands of black nickel/titanium wire. Slide two crimp tubes onto the group of six strands. Place the crimps in the center of the strands at 23-1/2 inches and 24-1/2 inches from the ends. Place a small amount of adhesive inside the crimp (optional). Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tubes.
STEP 4
Cut the head off of one 1-inch 21-gauge headpin.
STEP 5
Loop the six strands around, creating twelve strands. Pass the headpin around the wires by the crimps creating a 1/2 inch loop. Wrap the headpin tightly around the wires to hold them in place. Tuck the end of the wire in under the last wrap.
STEP 6
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 6mm jumpring. Pass it through the center link on the 50-inch length of antiqued silver-plated 5x3.5mm cable and the headpin wrap attached in Step 5. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach the center link of the 48-inch length of antiqued silver-plated 5x3.5mm cable chain to the headpin wrap attached in Step 5.
STEP 7
Slide the 9x7mm silver-plated white brass round tube bead over the loop of black wires and fit it securely in place where the chain is attached.
STEP 8
Open a 6mm jumpring. Pass the jumpring through the links of the four lengths of chain 2-1/4 inches from the loop on the wires and around the twelve strands of black wire.

Repeat to attach a 6mm jumpring every 1-1/2 inches down the lengths of chain for a total of 11 sets of jumprings around the wire.
STEP 9
String the 12 black nickel/titanium wire ends and the ends of the 4 lengths of chain through the black wire loop so that the last 6mm jumpring attaching the chain to the wire is 2-1/2 inches below the loop.
STEP 10
String onto the end of the first black nickel/titanium wire one crimp tube, one 4mm round coral bead, one 6mm faceted round turquoise bead, one 4mm round coral bead and one crimp tube. Measure 1/4 inch from the end of the wire and crimp the last crimp tube using crimping pliers to hold the beads in place. Crimp the first crimp above the first bead.

Repeat to attach the following:
  • One crimp tube, one 4mm round coral bead, one 6mm faceted round turquoise bead, one 4mm round coral bead and one crimp to six strands of black wire.
  • One crimp tube, one 6mm faceted round turquoise bead, one 4mm round coral bead and one crimp tube to six strands of black wire.
STEP 11
Open the loop on the 6mm round turquoise bead drop. Pass the loop through the second link on the first 25-inch length of chain over the brass tube added in Step 7.

Repeat to attach a 4mm round coral bead drop to the fifth and seventh link on the chain.
STEP 12
Attach a 6mm faceted round turquoise bead drop to the last link each of the four lengths of chain. Attach the remaining 6mm faceted round turquoise bead drops and 4mm round coral bead drops to varying links near the end of the four lengths of chain.
