Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Swarovski Crystal and Gold-Plated Brass Link

Pendant

STEP 1
Using vinyl gloves mix equal parts of black Apoxie® Sculpt molding compound (each part approximately 20mm) for two minutes, or until colors are thoroughly blended. Place Apoxie onto the silicone pad and press and roll flat.
STEP 2
Place a 30mm Klay Kutter™ in a small amount of water to wet the edge. Working quickly, to keep Apoxie from sticking to the cutter, place the cutter over the center of the Apoxie and press firmly. Pick up the excess Apoxie and roll into a snake shape approximately 1/8 inch, long enough to outline the edge of the 30mm round cutout.
STEP 3
Place one end of one gold-plated 17x2mm flat end link so that about half of the link hangs over the top of the round cutout creating a pendant (this will be the bail to be strung later).
STEP 4
Place the center of the Apoxie snake shape over the link. Continue to outline the edge of the pendant so the ends meet and overlap slightly on the opposite side. Remove excess from each end.
STEP 5
Place one Swarovski and gold-plated Siam 6mm heart drop on the edge of the Apoxie over the link with the loop facing the center of the pendant. Press the loop down into the Apoxie so the tip is raised up, approximately 45-degree angle.

Continue to place a total of ten Siam 6mm heart drops next to each other around the edge of the pendant.
STEP 6
Separate a 4mm piece of Apoxie from the remainder and roll into a ball. Press into the center of the pendant.

Roll the remainder of the Apoxie into a snake shape long enough to outline the edge of one Swarovski rose peach 14mm rivoli. Place the snake shape along the edge of the rivoli pressing the ends together.
STEP 7
Press the Swarovski rose peach 14mm rivoli into the 4mm round of Apoxie in the center of the pendant.
STEP 8
Gently peel the uncured pendant off of the silicone pad. Using a dry artist brush apply gold mica powder to the sides and the backside of the pendant. Place it back onto the silicone pad and apply mica powder to any visible Apoxie on the front as well.
STEP 9
Press all of the components added to the pendant into place making sure they are as closely aligned as possible.
STEP 10
Using the fine ball tip of a texturizing tool evenly create round depressions in the Apoxie around the edge of the Swarovski rose peach 14mm rivoli and any other visible Apoxie on the front and around the side of the pendant.

Make any necessary adjustments or touch ups, then let cure for 24 hours.

Necklace

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters cut one 35-inch length of Invizi™-Cord nylon cord.
STEP 2
Using a pair of chain-nose and flat-nose pliers open two antiqued gold-plated 5mm jumprings.

Pass one jumpring through the bottom ring attached to one antiqued gold-plated 10x5mm lobster claw clasp. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach one jumpring to the antiqued gold-plated ring that comes with the lobster claw clasp.
STEP 3
String the following onto the nylon cord:
  • One gold-filled 2x1mm crimp
  • One gold-plated Accu-Guard™ wire protector
  • The jumpring on the lobster claw clasp
Pass the cord back through the crimp bead. Pull the cord so the crimp rests snug against the Accu-Guard leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite®) inside the crimp (optional).

Using crimping pliers crimp the crimp bead. Using flush-cutters trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Place one antiqued gold-plated 3mm crimp cover over the crimp bead then gently close it.
STEP 4
String the following onto the nylon cord:
  • Seventy-one Swarovski antiqued brass 4mm pearls
  • The loop from the Apoxie and Swarovski Pendant
  • Seventy-one Swarovski antiqued brass 4mm pearls
Repeat Step 3 to add the ring portion of the clasp.

STEP 4

STEP 5

STEP 6
Press all of the components added to the pendant into place making sure they are as closely aligned as possible.
STEP 7
Using the fine ball tip of a texturizing tool evenly create round depressions in the Apoxie around the edge of the Swarovski rose peach 14mm rivoli and any other visible Apoxie on the front and around the side of the component.
STEP 8
Repeat Steps 1 - 7 to create a second Apoxie and Swarovski component.
STEP 9
Make any necessary adjustments or touch ups to each component, then let cure for 24 hours.
STEP 10
After the components have cured, mix Devcon® 5-Minute® Epoxy according to manufacturer's instructions. Apply a small amount of epoxy to the back of one Apoxie and Swarovski component and to the in the center of the flat pad on one gold-plated 14mm flat pad earstud. Press the component into the flat pad and center. Let the adhesive set for 5 minutes. Make sure to use proper ventilation when using this product.

Repeat to attach the second component to a second flat pad earstud.
