Bib-Style Necklace and Earring Set with African "Jade" Gemstone Beads, Cupchain and Swarovski Crystal

Necklace

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters cut one 17-1/2 inch length and one 12-inch length of glass rhinestone and gold-finished clear 4mm cupchain.

Trim the prong and sides off of twenty-two cupchain connectors to allow them to be attached to the cupchain horizontally.
STEP 2
Using a toothpick apply a small amount of E-6000® Jewelry and Craft Adhesive to one unclipped cupchain connector and the back of the first link on one end of the 17-1/2 inch length of chain. Press the link into the cupchain connector. Repeat to attach a cupchain connector to the last link on the cupchain and the first and last link on the 12-inch length of cupchain.

Repeat to attach one clipped connector to the eighteenth and fifty-sixth links on the 17-1/2 inch length of cupchain so the loop hangs below the link.
STEP 3
Beginning at the twenty-eighth link on the 17-1/2 inch length of chain, attach a clipped connector to every other link for a total of ten links.

Beginning at the thirteenth link on the 12-inch length, attach a connector to every third link.
STEP 4
String one clasp end (''cup'' end first) onto one gold-plated 1-1/2 inch headpin. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters form a wrapped loop on the straight end of the wire.

Repeat to create a loop on the second clasp end.
STEP 5
String the following onto one gold-plated 2-inch paddle pin:
  • One gold-plated 3mm smooth round
  • One African ''jade'' 13x4mm square tube
  • One gold-plated 3mm smooth round
Form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire creating a square tube drop.

Repeat to create a total of eleven square tube drops.
STEP 6
Create ten twisted oval links using the following on one gold-plated 2-inch eyepin:
  • One gold-plated 3mm smooth round
  • One African ''jade'' 14x8mm twisted oval
  • One gold-plated 3mm smooth round
STEP 7
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and bent-nose pliers open four gold-plated 4mm round jumprings and eleven gold-plated 6x4mm oval jumprings.
STEP 8
Pass one 4mm jumpring through the wrapped loop on one clasp end and the first link on the 17-1/2 inch length of cupchain. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach the second clasp end to the last link on the cupchain.

Pass one 4mm jumpring through the connector loop on the eighteenth link and the first link on the 12-inch length of cupchain and close. Repeat to attach the connector loop on the fifty-sixth link and the last link on the 12-inch length of chain.

Note: Verify that the connector loops on each length of cupchain are facing each other.
STEP 9
Open the loop on one end of one twisted oval link. Pass the loop through the connector loop on the twenty-eighth link on the 17-1/2 inch length of cupchain and close.

Repeat to attach a twisted oval link to each of the center connector loops on the cupchain.

Repeat to attach the loops on the opposite end of each twisted oval link to the center loops on the 12-inch length of cupchain.
STEP 10
Pass one oval jumpring through the loop on one square tube drop and the space between the eleventh and twelfth links on the 12-inch length of cupchain and close.

Repeat to attach one square tube drop to every third space in the chain.
