Crystal Passions Rose Flat Backs Imitation Silk Cord Ornament Frames
STEP 1
Cut the following lengths of 1mm imitation silk cord:
  • One 2-1/2 foot length of medium green
  • One 2-foot length of red
  • One 3-foot length of red
STEP 2
Tie the end of the 2-foot length of red cord around the center of the ornament base and make a knot to secure. Trim excess cord.
STEP 3
While holding the ornament base firmly, begin to wrap the cord either clockwise or counterclockwise around one spoke of the ornament.

Move to the next ornament then make another wrap, staying consistent with the previous wrap.

Continue this pattern to wrap a "God's Eye" around the ornament base until approximately 1/4 of the length of a spoke has been wrapped.

Tie the cord then apply a small amount of E6000® Fray Lock™ to the knot to secure. Trim excess cord.
STEP 4
Tie the end of the medium green length of cord to the spoke where the previous length of cord ended.

Repeat the pattern in Step 3 to continue the God's Eye wrap around the ornament for another 1/4 of the radius.

Tie the cord then apply a small amount of E6000 Fray Lock to the knot to secure. Trim excess cord.
STEP 5
Repeat Step 4 using the remaining length of red cord, leaving approximately 1/4 of the length of the spokes exposed.

Tie the cord then apply a small amount of E6000 Fray Lock to the knot to secure. Trim excess cord.

Slide an Artemis onto the spoke where the cord ends then form a simple loop on the end of the spoke.
STEP 6
Mix Devcon® 5 Minute™ epoxy according to manufacturer's instructions.
STEP 7
Apply Devcon to the inside of one Artemis bead. Slide the Artemis onto the end of one of the spokes of the ornament until the base of the Artemis is against the last ring of cord but so no part of the spoke is exposed through the top of the bead.

Repeat with the remaining Artemis beads to cap the remaining spokes of the ornament.
STEP 8
Apply Devcon to the back of one red SS20 flat back. Press the flat back onto the center of the front of the ornament.
STEP 9
Apply Devcon to the back of one red SS16 flat back. Press the flat back onto the front of the ornament, adjacent to the center flat back but along one of the spokes. Continue to glue red SS16 flat backs along the spoke until you reach the base of the Artemis bead on the end of that spoke.

Repeat to glue red SS16 flat backs along each of the spokes, starting adjacent to the center SS20 from Step 8 and continuing to the base of the Artemis beads.
STEP 10
Apply Devcon to the back of one emerald SS16 flat back. Starting adjacent to one of the spokes of red flat backs, glue the emerald flat back onto the cord of the God's Eye between the inner red and center medium green sets of cord. Repeat until two rings of emerald flat backs are glued to the cord, one ring on the border of the inner red cord and center medium green cord and a second ring on the border of the center medium green cord and the outer red cord.
STEP 11
Pass one 12mm twisted jump ring through the simple loop created at the end of Step 5 then close.
