Introduce Yourself:

I have always been interested in art. I have an over-active imagination that allows me to think outside of the box. I'm not sure that I have a particular style, since I still feel like a ''newbie'' to beading, but I learn new techniques everyday! I am most proud of learning how to make alpacan (Peruvian-style) necklaces ... they require a lot of wirework.

Share Your Background:

I began making jewelry to keep my hands busy while I was just quitting smoking. After talking with my sister about making hemp jewelry, I decided I would start there. I found that I was not good at the intricate weaving techniques almost immediately! So I continued looking for a way to keep my hands busy. I went to a local craft store and started making earrings and necklaces and found that I make pretty good ones--I got compliments almost immediately! I began trying different styles and techniques, but buying beads at the craft store was getting expensive. I did a search online under ''Beads + Findings,'' immediately found Fire Mountain Gems and Beads, and the rest is history!

Beading Success!

Making jewelry calms me--my mind and soul are completely engulfed into creating something beautiful. And I have remained a non-smoker since 2006!
