||Meet the Designer-Artist
Where do you live?
Huntington Beach, California
What inspires you as a designer-artist?
My jewelry designs are described as ''Wild, Organic, Southwest Style.'' Nature influences my designs with shapes, textures, and colors. Then the Southwest cowgirl influence determines the final design.
What medium do you work with mostly?
I love metal clays, metalsmith, and enameling.
Why did you become enchanted with this style of jewelry-making?
I love metal clay's simplicity of use, metalsmithing to develop the design, and enameling to add color. Leather, semiprecious stones, copper, bronze, silver, and found objects complete my jewelry style.
Where and How do you sell your jewelry?
I have sold my jewelry in local and out-of-state boutiques and stores.
What is the name of the piece you are submitting to be included in your Success Story?
Wink of Sun
What inspired this design?
A design challenge by the New Metal Artists Group in Southern CA. My design was inspired by the ''Land, Sea, Air, Nature, Naturally!'' theme, 1 of 5 in the challenge.
How did it come together?
I started with a 1-1/2 inch round and domed two-textured piece of dried fine silver metal clay. Then carved and embellished it, with the inspiration theme in my head. The fine silver design framed in copper repeating the silver ball embellishment, and completed with leather necklace.
