Meet the Designer-Artist

Where do you live?
Long Island, New York

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
The color, size and shape of the beads inspire me. I try to create designs that are wearable and comfortable but are eye-catching and appealing.

What medium do you work with mostly?
Czech glass beads, Japanese seed beads, crystals and pearls, soutache, wire and chain.

Why did you become enchanted with this style of jewelry-making?
I enjoy how the small beads fit together to form interesting shapes, textures and color combinations.

Where and How do you sell your jewelry?
I sell my bead weaving patterns in my Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/SoSassySusanSassoon and I sell my finished pieces on my Facebook page: www.Facebook.com/SoSassyBySusanSassoon.
My store website address is: www.sosassybysusansassoon.com

What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
Horned Flower

What inspired this design?
The work in Kate McKinnon's book Contemporary Geometric Beadwork.

How did it come together?
I began without much of a plan, and as it began to take shape, my ideas began to find a direction.
