Tip: Using different colored clays with the foils creates different effects. For example, when a pearlescent foil is applied to black clay it creates an abalone-shell look. Apply the same foil to white clay to create a mother-of-pearl look.
STEP 1
Press scrap foil pieces onto raw clay then rip for a confetti effect. Repeat, allowing bits of the clay to show through, until the desired effect is obtained.
STEP 2
Using a clay blade, trim pieces from the abalone-shell clay (or any clay with a desired effect) in various shapes and sizes, applying them randomly to the confetti-foiled clay.

Tip: Try over-lapping clay pieces over one another to create an abstract piece.

Repeat until the desired look is obtained. Use a cutting tool to cut the desired shape from the confetti-foiled clay, then add a decorative bail for a very artistic piece.
