What is the difference between regular sterling silver 2x2mm cut crimp tubes and lightweight sterling silver 2x2mm cut crimp tubes? Under what circumstances would I choose to use one over the other?
- Lisa
The difference is in the thickness of the tube wall and therefore the diameter of the opening. The lightweight crimp tube hole is 1.3mm in diameter which is slightly larger than the 1mm hole of the more heavyweight, standard crimp tube.
Use lightweight crimp tubes with 0.012-inch and 0.014-inch Accu-Flex® beading wire, and standard crimp tubes with 0.019-inch and 0.024-inch Accu-Flex, and for multi-strand projects.
