 Securing a Donut with a Donut Bail

Turn a gemstone or glass donut into an eye-catching pendant with donut bails.

  • Donut of your choice 
  • Donut bail 
  • Jumprings 
  • Pliers, chain-nose 
  • Pliers, flat-nose 
  • Chain 
  • Ribbon 
  • Cording 
  • Scissors

    **Before installation, please close all other open browser windows.

    Using Folded Bails:

    Step 1
    Spread out both legs of the bail.
    Step 2
    Slip the bail through the hole in the donut.
    Step 3
    Squeeze the legs back together, over the top edge of the donut.
    Step 4
    Open a jumpring then pass the open jumpring through the loops at the top of the bail to keep them closed. Close the jumpring.
    Step 5
    Put your finished donut bail onto a length of cording, cable or chain of our choice.

    Using Decorative Donut Bails:

    Step 1
    Open the hinged bail on the donut bail finding enough to accommodate the width of your donut.
    Step 2
    Slide your donut under the hinged bail until the center of the donut reaches the pin on the hinge.
    Step 3
    While holding the donut stable, compress the hinged bail so it captures the donut and secures it in place.
    Step 4
    Slide your favorite chain, ribbon or cording through the loop on the bail and you're ready to go!
