Agate, Golden Leaf Gemstone Properties
Put yourself into another place--on a path through a forest. It's fall. It's maple country. Beneath your feet is a carpet of golden leaves dappled by soft earth. Every step takes you deeper into a world of intriguing textures and patterns. That's golden leaf agate, a deep brown agate with mid to dark tan/gold patterns pressed through it. Although much agate is a banded chalcedony, this stone is primarily a solid brown with a gold color surfacing from deep inside. It's perfect when you want a deep brown to mix with other colors. Sprinkle these beads among interestingly shaped pale green beads, add various shapes of sterling silver beads including heishi, and you've got a necklace that suggests silvery water flowing through a "forest" of golden leaf agate. Other people will want to go there, too-and can-through the jewelry you've created.
One of the metaphysical values attributed to gemstones is that they heighten the qualities of a particular type of person. Brown agates with gold/yellow tones such as golden leaf agate correspond to people who are serious, gentle people with good memories, people referred to as "long-thinkers." They're the kind of people I can easily imagine walking through a forest of maples-the kind of people I'd like to have walking along with me.
