Grand Prize Gold Medal Winner: Lauren Butler

"Oh my goodness--you're kidding! I can't believe it. What good news to wake up to--I haven't even gotten out of bed yet!"

With its subtle elegance and balanced colorplay, Lauren Butler's elegant design Fire Ice captured everyone's attention. Showcasing SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS from end to end, this winning necklace is composed of right angle woven bicone beads and a centerpiece featuring bicones, drops and montées. Chris held up the piece and called it, "Spectacular--very elegant, very wearable." Lauren says she had the crystals first and was inspired by the colors, using the AB montées to tie the silver side and gold side together into something she imagined a 1950s Hollywood star would wear.

Grand Prize Silver Medal Winner: Claudia Cattaneo

Claudia Cattaneo's intriguing necklace is an intricate Egyptian-collar style design, featuring 14Kt gold beads with Delica seed beads and sparkling SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS in a spectrum of beautiful pastel hues. The openwork design of interlocking ovals gives Egyptian Dreams visual impact that doesn't weigh the wearer down.

Grand Prize Bronze Medal Winner: Kaisa Gregerson

Brides aren't the only ones who'll love Something New, a lavish necklace which also won the Wedding category. Kasia Gregerson's lush design is bedecked with an array of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal beads and crystal pearls, interspersed with silver bead caps, findings and stardust beads.


Employee's Choice: Karen Carmichael

The rich blues and golds in Karen Carmichael's "I Do" in Bermuda Blue jewelry set made it a shoo-in for Employee's Choice. We oohed and ahhed over the intricate seed bead and SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS beadwork, and how it displays the beautiful Bermuda and Capri blues of the heart and starfish drops.
President's Award: Melissa Ingram

Stuart, a trained aeronautics engineer, gravitated toward the gorgeous geometrics and cleverly hidden side clasp in Melissa Ingram’s Lashed Lily necklace. Melissa used tubular peyote stitch to construct the necklace body, then assembled the cascading centerpiece with mathematical precision.
