Meet the Designer-Artist

Introduce Yourself

Hi! I'm Caitlyn and the only thing that I am more passionate about than creating, is people! So, I started Busy Beader, a YouTube channel for people who want to learn how to tap into their creativity but don’t feel like they have the knowledge or time. So, if you've got a few minutes to spare, come create something wonderful with me.

Where do you live?

I live in Bellevue Colorado! My home is tucked onto the mountainside. There is a herd of wild deer and flock of turkeys that lives in my neighborhood. I love being able to spend time in nature every day, and even have a view of the local reservoir!

What inspires you as a designer-artist?

I take inspiration from the natural world around me. My home in the mountains gives me all the creativity I could ever need; from flowers in my garden, and the beauty of each season, to the celestial bodies and temperamental Colorado weather, I could make jewelry forever.

What medium do you work with mostly?

I work with all mediums! I welcome the opportunity to learn something new and practice with mediums I don’t work with often. But typically, you can find me working with crystal, stone, or gems and metal.

Why did you become enchanted with this style of jewelry-making/crafting?

I grew up in a jewelry making family, so gems and beads come very naturally to me. I have been creating jewelry longer than I can remember.

Do you sell your designs? If yes, please list the URL.

Not at the moment, but if I ever open up a store, I will let you know!

What is the name of the piece you are submitting to be included in your Success Story?

The Colors Within

What inspired this design? How did it come together? For example, did you plan it out or did it define itself once you began working?

I had these beautiful colored pearls and wanted to use them to showcase the range of color that can be found in nature and within us as people. Once I had them strung in an order that felt natural and smooth, I chose to make it a choker with delicate chain so that the pearls would be the star and sit comfortably around the neck. It is one of my favorite pieces that I’ve ever made.
