Describe your artistic style.
My artistic style is DAVIS, which means distinctive, authentic, versatile, and impactful in style!
What inspires you as a designer-artist?
I like to think outside the ... umm ... JEWELRY box!
What materials do you most enjoy working with?
My favorite materials that I absolutely enjoy working with are lampwork glass components, Crystal Passions® crystals, and sterling silver.
What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
Arctic Flower is the name of this piece. I chose this one because it is my favorite. Everything but the charm is from Fire Mountain Gems and Beads.
What inspired this design?
I love all types of blues. It's my favorite color. This particular design came to me, one day during the winter of 2010, while looking outside through my patio door.
How did it come together?
The only plan, was to transfer my view of what I saw outside ... into a necklace. However, the actual details came together as I was working on the piece.
Share Your Background
When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
First, it started out as just a hobby, and another form of art and creativity for me, that I would give to friends, family, and co-workers as gifts. Then, eventually, I began receiving orders from them, so I start selling my jewelry pieces. Aside from Fire Mountain's tutorial videos and also YouTube jewelry-making videos, I have absolutely NO formal training.
Who introduced you to beading?
I would always think about it, here and there. I hadn't become too serious about doing it, until one of my friends really inspired me to. THANK YOU SOO MUCH, JESSI MORAN! I truly appreciate you!
Do you have an artistic background?
Besides being born into an artistic family, with my dad, mom, and all 3 brothers being artists! It is part of our DNA! I took fine arts throughout school. I use pens, markers, pencils and color pencils. I taught myself how to air-brush. I love writing poetry. I also took a fashion design class, in high school!

What other hobbies do you have?
Aside from making jewelry, I enjoy drawing/sketching, calligraphy, poetry, photography, and acting silly with friends and family!
Beading Success
What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
Jewelry-making has gone from hobby to part-time career, but will eventually be full-time. It is another way of helping me advance my artistic, creative skills!
If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
DAVIS Designer Jewelry has attended many craft fairs, local events, as well as, entering my jewelry pieces into several national jewelry contests. I will also start hosting jewelry parties, too. I distribute business cards, locally.
Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
DAVIS Designer Jewelry has helped support Zoe Ministries' Marriage Conference, in March of 2011.
Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
This advice is for ANY and EVERYONE who may have dreams, visions, goals, etc. Keep moving forward. As you sprint/run, there WILL be obstacles/hurdles (problems, situations, set backs), but don't STOP or GIVE UP ... instead, leap/jump (overcome) them and stay in the race. Eventually, your dreams, visions, goals, etc. shall surely become reality! Be encouraged!
