Q.
I'm knitting a lacy sweater in a cotton/silk blend yarn and need to include beads along the way. I don't know what type bead to use and would appreciate your help. Thanks.

Seed beads are a great addition to knitted items and come in a variety of sizes, finishes and shapes. They work well because they have smooth edges and won't cause wear on the yarn (unlike bugle beads which have very sharp edges). For a lacy sweater, you'd probably want to go no larger than a size #8 (8/0) seed bead, as a larger size could weigh down the yarn. Use a Speedy Stringer™ to string many seed beads onto your yarn in seconds.
