Use dapping punches, also known as doming punches, to form and shape softer metals. Wooden dapping punches, made from the Portia tree hard wood, have a smooth finish. Unlike metal tools, wood tools are less likely to chip, scratch or mar precious and plated metals. To shape sterling silver, Argentium® silver and other metal noted as half-hard or hard, the metal will first need to be annealed.
Set Includes:17.5mm, 20.5mm, 24.5mm, 39.5mm and 48.5mm dapping punches.
Use with a rawhide, nylon or wooden hammer.
