Creating Elemental Jewelry explores how the wonders of nature can inspire jewelry-making. The elements that inspire the designs are also reflected in materials sourced from the heart of our world (precious stones and metals mined from the Earth's core or sea glass collected from the shore), and methods that employ elements such as fire (soldering) or water (working with molten wax in water). Projects range in difficulty, and include plenty of intermediate and advanced techniques to appeal to more experienced jewelry makers.
• Expert instruction: the author is a qualified instructor and runs workshops at her studio
• Skill levels: includes plenty of intermediate and advanced projects to appeal to experienced readers
• Original jewelry: step-by-step instruction for 14 beautiful designs and 6 inspiring experimental projects with multiple outcomes

About the author: Vicky Forrester is a graduate of Camberwell College of Arts (University of the Arts London) and Goldsmiths' College (University of London) and has been involved in the contemporary jewelry field for 23 years. She has been teaching and mentoring students in jewelry since 1995. Vicky's work has been exhibited extensively in the UK and abroad through various specialist galleries (Electrum, Lesley Craze, Flow, ProArte Monaco and many more). She makes one-off pieces to commission, also producing limited editions. Her jewelry is held in private collections and examples of her work have also been published. Vicky is also the founder and director of Flux Studios. Flux Studios aims to bridge the chasm arising from the decline in opportunities for new makers to establish their businesses and for the public to engage in jewelry practice. Her motivation to set up Flux Studios arose in response to her extensive experience as both maker and tutor of contemporary jewelry.
