I just had a bad experience selling at a local show. It was well-attended, but there were mostly ''bargain-hunters'' there who complained about my prices. What can I do to make sure I don't wind up at another ''flea market''?

Having a booth at a show or fair requires a significant commitment of time, energy and money. Here's how to ensure you'll end up at the right show. First, prepare a list of questions in advance to ask the show promoter to confirm the event is the right fit for you. Ask about attendance, the types of buyers who show up, how the show is marketed and what other kinds of vendors will be there. Also, search online to see if you can find information about the last time that show was held. Call exhibitors who were there and find out as much as you can about their experiences. With information from the promoter, the internet and other exhibitors, you'll be well-equipped to choose the right shows in the future.
