Are there any downsides to using screw-tites versus crimps? I would like to have info about the pros/cons of the two. Thank you.

Fire Mountain carries Screw-Tite Crimps™ which are similar to Scrimps®. The hold of Screw-Tite Crimps and crimp beads is secure when using Accu-Flex® beading wire. This fact is increased if you place a small dot of beading glue (such as G-S Hypo cement adhesive) into the crimp before crimping or into the tine screw hole of the Screw-Tite Crimp, after you are sure of your beading design, and before tightening the screw. However, the greatest benefit to using Screw-Tite Crimps is that they are reusable. The screw can be loosened, the crimp removed, the design restrung and the Screw-Tite replaced to secure the new finished design. Screw-Tite Crimps are larger than traditional crimp beads and their size might make them less applicable in designs where only a tiny crimp would fit.
