A Wide Eye Needle™ is a good needle choice when working with elastic cording, or any cording that doesn't fit through the eye of beading needles. The Wide Eye Needle is mostly all eye, so it can accommodate a lot of different diameter cords and threads.

Twisted beading needles have a large eye, which also accommodate larger diameter cording and threads; the eye collapses as the needle passes through the bead, which also make them a good candidate for use with Powercord® or other elastic cording.
