I make beaded barrettes. I have tried to use glue to hold down the beadwork but eventually the glue doesn't hold. I sew beadwork onto leather/suede, should I sew through the leather/suede and the bottom part of the barrette? What is better to use, Nymo® thread or wire?

Sewing the leather backing to a barrette frame will keep the beadwork in place. Nymo thread works great for stitching the beads to leather and will work equally as well to attach the beadwork to the barrette frame. For a secure hold, use flexible E-6000® Jewelry and Craft Adhesive to glue beadwork backing to the barrette and then use thread to secure the beadwork in place. The stitching will help ensure the adhesive receives little stress. Wire wrapping your beadwork to a barrette frame is another option, but wire can tangle in the hair.
