Is there a way to disinfect jewelry when we are selling at our community market that won't damage stones or wire? Customers like to try on pieces to see how they fit, but if they don't buy them, the necklaces/rings/bracelets need to be disinfected before someone else tries them on? How??
The easiest way to disinfect jewelry between wearers would be a UV sanitizer. It's the safest way to get all metals, stones and other jewelry components germ free without the use of chemicals that may be safe on some materials but detrimental to others. It's also fast and mess free. You can purchase portable UV sanitizers that are battery operated and portable as well!
An ultrasonic cleaner is another great way to sanitize jewelry between wearers. Be sure to use gentle solution made for jewelry in an ultrasonic cleaner. If working with organic stones such as pearls or amber, or dyed stones, a light wash with antibacterial dish or hand soap diluted with water may be a better option. Be sure to test it out before diving into any method.
