How to Use Beadalon® Double Banding Pliers

video

Beadalon double banding pliers are used to secure double thickness of square wire. See how these pliers create a double right angle for securing jewelry wire.

Instructions

Step 1

Place the desired length of wire between the jaws of the double-banding pliers.

Notes:

  • If using half-round wire, place the wire flat side against the pin of the pliers.
  • The gauge of wire being used for banding should match the gauge of the double banding pliers. For example: If banding 20-gauge wire, use a pair of 2x20 gauge double banding pliers.
Step 2

Compress the pliers to create a double right-angle in the banding wire.

Step 3

Place the wire bundle being banded between the sides of the banding wire, with a width of 2 wires and a length of your choosing. Hold the wire bundle tight with one hand then use the other hand to pull one side of the banding wire across the bundle. Use a pair of bent-nose pliers to squeeze the banding wire tightly shut to secure the bundle in place. Repeat using the opposite side of the banding wire.

Continue to wrap the ends of banding wire around the bundle as desired, using bent-nose pliers to squeeze and secure each band. Trim excess wire.
