Where do you live?
Berkeley, California
What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Everything, plus I am very influenced by nature.
What medium do you work with mostly?
I am a figurative sculptor, painter and beading artist. I love all mediums.
Why did you become enchanted with this style of jewelry-making?
I started beading and assembling shell mobiles and necklaces as early as five years old. Beading has always been part of my life experience. Your contest inspired me to try something new i.e.polymer clay beads.
Where and how do you sell your jewelry?
Over the years I have both donated and sold my work. I have a home studio and open it to the public during the Spring/Summer/Fall months. Due to Covid-19 this has not happened for two seasons.
What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
How did it come together?
I do not plan anything. I have a starting place and allow the creative process to take over from there. The entry Ochossi's Candy was a surprise up until the finish. I love when things present themselves creatively and require a solution. That happened with this piece. I also follow the "little voice in my head" even when it is suggesting an unknown solution. Taking the risk works.
