Using an Intermittent Stringing Technique
Use an intermittent stringing technique when you want the base of a jewelry design (the wire, cord or string on which you are placing beads) to show as a design element of the piece. For example, you may want to use an intermittent stringing technique with Accu-Flex® Professional Quality Beading Wire in metallic or fashion colors. You will use a wonderful little finding called a crimp to suspend your beads on the wire
Instructions
Step 1
Add a crimp bead onto the wire and crimp it with the crimping pliers. The pliers have two crimping stations. One is on the inner portion of the pliers, close to the hinge. This one makes the crimp into a U shape. The other is a rounding station in the outer portion of the pliers. Use the inner, U-shaped station first. Then use the rounding station in the front to round your U. Now your crimp is secure on the wire.
Step 2
String onto the wire, one crimp bead, the group of beads you are suspending and another crimp bead. Position the beads on the wire then crimp the second crimp--now you have a suspended group of beads.
Step 3
String and crimp all the groups that make up your necklace, spacing the beads along the wire as your design dictates. You might want to use a crimp clasp on the ends of wire for a great professional finish to your jewelry.
