Instructions
Cut four 30-inch lengths of ice blue C-Lon® 0.5mm cord, two 6-inch lengths and two 2-inch lengths of 4mm double cable chain.
Macramé and Quartz Focal
Use a lark's head knot to attach each of the lengths of cord to a 6mm jump ring. Move the knots to evenly space around the jump ring.
Lay the jump ring down, spread the cords into a spoke-like pattern and assign numbers 1 - 8 to each.
Note: After each step repeat the process of organizing and numbering the cords.
Tie a square knot with the following cords close to the jump ring:
Slightly further down, tie square knots with the following cords:
Repeat with the following cords:
Note: The spacing between each row is dependent on the size of the stone being used and the desired final effect.
Repeat until the netting is deep enough to reach the approximate center of the selected stone. Insert the stone then repeat Step 6 until the stone is completely netted.
Gather all the cords and tie an overhand knot close to the stone.
Separate a left and right working thread from the group of cords, group the remaining six cords downward as anchor strands.
Using the working strands, tie a square knot around the anchor strands.
Repeat to create a length of approximately 1/2 inch.
Fold the length of square knots back on itself to the overhand knot.
Use two working cords to knot around both sides of the doubled anchor cords and the base of the length of square knots. Repeat 3 to 5 times to secure the bail.
Apply adhesive, allow to dry then trim excess cord.
Creating Necklace
String a 10mm magnesite round onto an eye pin then create a simple loop. Repeat to create a total of 12 links.
String the bail of the macramé pendant onto a 38x8mm curve link.
Use 4mm jump rings to attach the following items into a chain:
Repeat in reverse to complete the necklace.
Cut two 2-inch lengths of 4mm double cable chain.
String a 10mm magnesite round onto a head pin then create a simple loop.
Repeat to create a second drop.
Pass the loop of an ear wire through the first link of a length of chain then close. Use a 4mm jump ring to attach a drop to the last link of the chain.
Repeat to complete the second earring.
