Instructions
Cut the following:
To make the pendant, use a square disc cutter to cut a 1-inch square from 24-gauge sterling silver half-hard sheet. Sand all the edges with a medium-grit sanding pad.
Tip: Cut the squares for the earrings now and set them aside for later. See Step 2 of the earring instructions below.
Use EUROTOOL® 1.8mm hole punch pliers to punch a hole in the center top of the square of sterling silver sheet. Sand the exit hole with a medium grit sanding pad, then apply a brushed finish with the sanding pad, working in one direction on both sides of the square.
Hold the tip of one end of the Zebra Wire against the center back of the square, about 1/4 inch from the edge on one side, then wrap the wire snugly and repeatedly so the original end is secured. Wrap side to side at a width of about 1/4 inch, leaving a couple millimeters of clear space at the edge of the square. Keep wrapping until you have about 8 inches of wire tail left. Thread three varied 6x5mm multi-tourmaline oval beads onto the wire and let them lie against the wires on the face of the square. Keep wrapping on one end and then the other until you have about 2 inches of wire tail left. Bring the tail to the back and wrap it around four or five of the wires several times so it lies flat, then snip off the tail. Make sure you cannot feel the tail—if you can, use the sanding pad to sand it until it’s smooth. Add a small dot of GORILLA™ Super Glue Gel adhesive to the back of the top bead to keep the beads in place.
Using a 3.5mm 22-gauge sterling silver round jump ring, attach one of the lengths of figure 8 chain to one end of the tourmaline chain. Repeat for the other end of the tourmaline chain.
Add a 10x5mm sterling silver triggerless self-closing clip clasp to one end of the chain. Then add 6mm 19-gauge sterling silver soldered round jump ring to the free end of the chain.
Add the pendant to the center of the chain using a 7x5mm 18-gauge sterling silver oval jump ring.
Cut the following:
Cut two one-inch rectangles using a square disc cutter. Sand and round the edges with a medium-grit sanding pad.
Tip: If you are creating both the necklace and the earrings, it is simplest to complete this step all at once, rather than cutting one time for the necklace and a separate time for the earrings.
Use EUROTOOL 1.8mm hole punch pliers to punch a hole in the center top of one the rectangles. Sand the exit hole with a medium grit sanding pad, then apply a brushed finish with the sanding pad working in one direction on both sides of the rectangle.
Hold the tip of one end of the Zebra Wire in the center back of the rectangle, about 1/4 inch from the edge on one side, then wrap the wire snugly, repeatedly so the original end is secured. Wrap side to side at a width of about 1/4 inch, leaving a couple millimeters of clear space at the edge of the rectangle. Add a small dot of GORILLA Super Glue Gel adhesive to the back of the top bead to keep the beads in place.
Using a 6mm 19-gauge sterling silver round jump ring, attach a single link of sterling silver and multi-tourmaline beaded rondelle chain to the rectangle. Then attach the free end of the link to an 18mm 21-gauge sterling silver flat fishhook ear wire.
Repeat Steps 3 – 6 for the second earring.
