Wiggly Scribbly with Polymer Clay

video

Award-winning artist and polymer clay guru Christi Friesen shows how to turn scrap polymer clay into a cane she describes as wiggly scribbly for unique clay creations to use in jewelry making.

Instructions

Step 1

Gather together and condition scrap polymer clay and press together in layers. Form a pancake shape then run the clay through a poly-roller machine on a medium setting, holding your fingers underneath to prevent the clay from going through smoothly.

Step 2

Use a clay cutting blade to cut the clay in the middle, exposing the wiggly design. Press the two halves together to create a wiggly scribbly cane. Slice thin layers from the cane.

Step 3

Create a teardrop shape using more conditioned polymer clay then press on slices of the cane. Leave the slices of cane dimensional or roll the teardrop between your hands to smooth and blend the cane.

If desired, form a heart shape from the teardrop.
