In-house jewelry designer Rose Wingenbach shows how to bend or curve a baked piece of polymer clay in case you ever bake polyclay into a specific shape only to realize the shape just won’t work with your jewelry project.
Insert the already-baked polymer clay piece back into a craft oven and bake at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 2 minutes.
Wear gloves or use a tool such as tweezers to remove the clay from the oven.
To flatten a piece, place it on a flat surface with something heavy on top then let it cool.
To add a curve or reshape into a different shape, form the shape in your hands (remember to wear gloves when handling hot clay) then insert the clay into a bowl of cold water. Hold the clay under the water until firm.
Polymer clay can be reheated and reshaped as needed until the desired shape is achieved.
