- Bead cap, antique gold-plated brass, 3x1mm ribbed round, fits 3-4mm bead
- Bead, Czech fire-polished glass, opaque red carmen, 10mm faceted round
- End bar, antique brass-finished "pewter" (zinc-based alloy), 16x7mm single-sided design with 3 loops
- Bead, Czech fire-polished glass, opaque red carmen, 6mm faceted round
- Bead, Czech fire-polished glass, opaque red carmen, 4mm faceted round
- Head pin, antique brass-plated steel, 3/4 inch, 21 gauge
- Eye pin, antique brass-plated steel, 1-1/4 inch, 21 gauge
Convertible jewelry is all about fun, creative freedom and getting more looks for less. Loop along with jewelry designer Rose as she shows you how easy it is to incorporate a lobster claw clasp to add an element of versatility and customization to this earring project.
Instructions
Step 1
String one 6mm bead cap, one 10mm round and one 6mm bead cap onto an eye pin then create a simple loop. Repeat to create a second 10mm link.
Step 2
String a 3mm bead cap, a 4mm round and a 3mm bead cap onto an eye pin then create a simple loop. Repeat to create a total of 12 4mm links.
Step 3
String one 6mm bead cap, one 6mm round and one 6m bead cap onto a head pin then create a simple loop. Repeat to create a total of six drops.
Step 4
In the style of a beaded chain, attach three 4mm links then a drop to the right loop of an end bar. Repeat to attach two 4mm links and a drop to the center loop and one 4mm link and a drop to the left loop.
Repeat in reverse to embellish the second end bar.
Step 5
Connect the following in sequence:
- The loop of an ear wire
- One 10mm link
- The loop of a lobster claw clasp
- The single loop of an embellished end bar
Repeat to complete the second earring.
