Instructions
Cut a 20-inch length of 16-gauge wire.
Grip the center of the wire with a pair of Wubbers medium bail-making pliers.
Bend one end of the wire around the jaw of the pliers to the opposite direction. Repeat with the other side of the wire, making a circle.
Grip the wire with the bail-making pliers next to the first loop. Bend the wire around the jaw of the pliers to create another loop. Repeat to create a total of four loops on both sides of the original.
Hold the loop component to the bottom of a horseshoe then bend the loop section to mirror the curve.
Still holding the component in place, bring one end of the wire to the back of the horseshoe and up through the inner-most nail hole. Bend the wire so it grips the horseshoe. Repeat with the opposite side.
Cut three 4-foot lengths of 22-gauge wire.
Secure one end of the wire under the 16-gauge wire of the loop component.
Pass the wire through the inner-most and second nail holes on one side of the horseshoe. Repeat to tightly wrap the wire five times. Repeat to wrap between the second and third nail holes then the third and fourth.
Secure the end of the wire under the wraps then trim any excess.
If the wire is not tight against the horseshoe, grip the middle of a wrap with the tip of a pair of chain-nose pliers and twist slightly.
Repeat Step 6 using the second length of 22-gauge wire and the nail holes on the opposite side of the horseshoe.
Use the third length of 22-gauge wire to tightly wrap around the horseshoe from the inner-most nail hole to the first loop of the center component.
Continue to wrap around the horseshoe, passing between each loop of the component.
Wrap around the horseshoe from the end of the component to the inner-most nail hole on the opposite side. Tuck the wire under the wraps and then trim any excess.
String a turquoise nugget, a coral chip and a turquoise nugget onto an eye pin, then create a simple loop.
Repeat to create a total of 21 beaded links.
String a turquoise nugget, a coral chip and a turquoise nugget onto a head pin, then create a simple loop.
Repeat to create a total of nine beaded drops.
String a coral rondelle onto the shaft of a pheasant feather. Insert the end of the feather shaft into a cord end. Use flat- or chain-nose pliers to flatten the tube of the cord end, securing the feather.
Repeat to create a total of 21 feather drops.
Use an oval jump ring to attach a beaded link to the large side of a rhodium-plated nail component.
Use a 5mm jump ring to attach a beaded drop and a feather drop to the small end of the nail component.
Repeat to create a second version of this fringe component.
Use the same techniques as Step 12 to create the following fringe components:
Use 4mm silver-plated jump rings to attach each of the fringe components to a loop on the component wrapped to the horseshoe.
Cut a 2-foot length of 2mm leather cord.
String a 7x6mm crimp tube onto the cord. Pass the cord through the outer-most nail hole then back through the crimp tube. Position the cord on either side of the horseshoe and the crimp tube approximately 1/2 an inch from the end of the horseshoe. Flatten the crimp tube with a pair of chain-nose pliers. Trim any excess cord from the short end.
String one hole of a double rondelle onto the cord. Pass the cord through the second hole in the opposite direction.
Leaving slack in the cord to allow for hanging, repeat Step 16 on the opposite side of the horseshoe.
String a coral rondelle onto the shaft of a pheasant feather. Insert the end of the feather shaft into a cord end. Use flat- or chain-nose pliers to flatten the tube of the cord end, securing the feather.
Repeat to create a total of three feather drops.
Pass a jump ring through the loop of the three feather drops then close.
Cut a 4-footh length of 0.5mm leather cord.
Using the 0.5mm cord and a hoop component, create a dream catcher.
Note: For additional details view the "Dream Catcher Earrings" project.
Cut an 8-inch length of Accu-Flex professional-quality beading wire.
String a crimp onto the beading wire. Pass the wire the hanging loop of the 2mm leather cord and the double rondelle.
Pass the wire back through the crimp, pulling to tighten around the double rondelle.
Position the crimp approximately 4mm from the double rondelle then crimp. Trim the excess wire from the short end then finish with a crimp cover.
String the following onto the beading wire:
Pass the wire through the hoop component of the dream catcher then back through the crimp. Pull tight to position the crimp approximately 6mm from the dream catcher then crimp. Trim any excess wire then finish with a crimp cover.
