Working off the spool of 20-gauge orange wire, create an open spiral approximately 2 inches in diameter. Bring the wire to meet the outside of the spiral.
Bend the wire away from the spiral, gently bending into S-like curves. Approximately 3 inches from the spiral, bend the wire sharply in reverse. Curve the wire to mirror the first side of the ray.
Wrap around the outside of the spiral twice, moving approximately 1/2 an inch around.
Repeat to add a total of five rays around the outer edge of the spiral.
Wrap tightly around the spiral to secure then trim any excess wire.
Working from the spool, wrap the end of the 20-gauge brass wire tightly around the outside of the spiral inside of a ray.
Repeat step 2 to create straight rays between the curved rays. Wrap tightly to secure then trim any excess wire.
Curl the tip of each curved ray halfway around the wide part of the jaw of round-nose pliers.
Cut five 5-inch lengths of 24-gauge copper wire.
Wrap the end of a length of wire on one side of the curved tip of a ray. String on a 6mm bead then tightly wrap on the opposite side. Trim any excess wire. Repeat to add a bead to the tip of each curved ray.
Cut a 5-inch length of 18-gauge brass wire. Gently curve the center of the wire in a U-shape, then continue to bend to create an oval. Create a large simple loop on one end of the wire. Attach the loop to the end of one straight ray.
