Cut a 10-inch length of 20-gauge wire.
Starting at the end of the wire, using the top of round nose pliers make a centered simple loop, thread on one green seed bead, make a three-loop spiral, then thread on one green seed bead.
4mm past the seed bead just added make a small loop in the wire in the same direction as the current spiral. Spiral the wire closely around the outside of the loop making another four-loop spiral, then let the tail curve to the left. Make a 180-degree bend in the wire bringing the tail up behind the spiral. Snip the tail where the tail portion ends and use pliers to adjust it so it curves neatly left.
Open the simple loop at the top of the semi-colon sideways and add it to the hole at the top center of the beading hoop, then close the simple loop.
Tip: Use flat nylon jaw pliers to clamp the spiral to keep it tight and on plane as you create it to avoid tool marks.
Thread seed beads onto the beading hoop wire to spell out “Keep Going” in Morse Code. Use gold seed beads for spaces, green seed beads for dots, and bugle beads for dashes, using the following pattern:
Three spaces: 3 gold seed bead spacers
K: -.- 1 bugle bead, 1 green seed bead, 1 green bugle bead
Space: 1 gold seed bead
E: . 1 green seed bead
Space: 1 gold seed bead
E: . 1 green seed bead
Space: 1 gold seed bead
P: .--. 1 green seed bead, 2 bugle beads and 1 green seed bead
Three spaces: 3 gold seed beads
G: --. 2 bugles, 1 green seed bead
Space: 1 gold seed bead
O: --- 3 bugle beads
Space: 1 gold seed bead
I: .. 2 green seed beads
Space: 1 gold seed bead
N: _. 1 bugle bead, 1 green seed bead
Space: 1 gold seed bead
G: --. 2 bugles, 1 green seed bead
Three spaces: 3 gold seed beads
Attach an earring hook to each beading hoop by opening the hook with your pliers and sliding it onto the top of the hoop. Close the hook securely with your pliers.
Repeat steps 1-4 for the second earring.
Your morse code "keep going" earrings are now complete! Wear them with pride and let the message inspire you to persevere through any challenges that come your way.
