Instructions
Cut fourteen 1-3/4 inch lengths of 36-inch gold-finished 2mm flat cable chain.
Cut a 17-inch length of ParaWire™ 20-gauge gold-finished and silver-plated copper round wire.
Make a drop by threading small amethyst chip bead onto a 1-inch 24-gauge gold-plated head pin. Finish the head pin with a simple loop. Repeat 13 times to make a total of 14 amethyst drops.
Attach each of the amethyst drops created in Step 2 to one of the fourteen 1-3/4 inch lengths of chain cut in Step 1.
Cut between one and three links off the free end of half of the chain dangles to give you a variety of lengths.
Use the large end of the barrel of round-nose pliers to make a loop in the end of the 17-inch wire cut in Step 1, leaving a 1-inch tail. Do not wrap the loop.
Thread all the chain dangles into the loop, arranging them in an order that pleases you, to create a tassel. Wrap the loop of wire twice and cut off the tail. Thread the remaining long tail through the large end of a TierraCast® “Hammertone” 15x10mm gold-plated cone, then thread on a 18-20mm hand-knapped amethyst flat round bead. Finish with a wrapped loop, using the large end of the barrel of round-nose pliers to create a bail.
Thread an 18-inch gold-finished 1mm snake chain through the bail.
Cut the following lengths of 36-inch gold-finished 2mm flat cable chain:
Make a drop by threading small amethyst chip bead onto a 1-inch 24-gauge gold-plated head pin. Finish the head pin with a simple loop. Repeat two times to make a total of three amethyst drops.
Attach each of the amethyst drops created in Step 2 to one of the lengths of chain cut in Step 1.
Open the eye of a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated eye pin and add the three dangles, shortest to longest. Then close the eye. Thread a TierraCast “Hammertone” 7x4mm gold-plated hammered rondelle bead onto the eye pin, and finish with a simple loop.
Add the dangle created in Step 4 to the bottom of a 32x27mm Everyday Jewelry gold-plated brass and amethyst round pendant. Then add a 8mm 16-gauge gold-plated round jump ring to the bail at the top of the pendant. Add a 17mm 19-gauge gold-plated fishhook ear wire to the jump ring before closing it.
Repeat Steps 1 – 5 for the second earring.
