Instructions
Cut two 7-1/4 inch lengths of black 3mm rubber cord and one approximately 1-yard length of dark grey, gold, ecru and orange thread. Cut two 3/4 inch lengths of 2mm ball chain and two lengths that are one link less than the previous.
Attach a bead tip to the last ball on each end of each length of ball chain.
Insert one end of one length of rubber cord into one cord end then crimp.
Use the length of dark grey thread to create approximately 1/2 inch of whipping knots around the crimped end of the rubber cord. Trim excess cord then apply a small amount of E6000 Fray Lock™ adhesive to the last knot.
Continue to create the following sections of whipping knots:
Attach one cord end to the end of the rubber cord.
Pass one 5mm jumpring through the loop on one portion of the toggle clasp and the crimp end just added, then close. Repeat to attach a second jumpring creating double jumprings.
Repeat Steps 2 - 4 to create the second half of the necklace.
Use 4mm jumprings to attach the loop on the bead tip on one end of one ball chain, of each size, and the open end of one rubber cord.
Use single 4mm jumprings to attach the opposite end of the shorter length of ball chain to the back legs loop on one side of one 19x13mm crab charm. Repeat to attach the longer length of ball chain to the front legs loop on the same side of the crab charm.
Repeat to attach the second rubber cord to the opposite side of the crab charm.
Cut two 2-inch lengths of black 3mm rubber cord and one approximately 1-yard length of dark grey, gold, ecru and orange thread (or use leftover thread from necklace). Cut two 1/2 inch lengths of 2mm ball chain and two lengths that are one link less than the previous.
Attach a bead tip to the last ball on each end of each length of ball chain.
Attach a crimp end to each end of each length of rubber cord.
Use the length of dark grey thread to create approximately 1/8 inch of whipping knots around one end of one rubber cord. Trim excess cord then apply a small amount of E6000.
Continue to create the following sections of whipping knots:
Use double 5mm jumprings to attach the loop on one portion of the toggle clasp to one crimp end on one rubber cord.
Use 4mm jumprings to attach the loop on the bead tip on one end of one ball chain, of each size, and the open end of the rubber cord.
