Instructions
Let a wave of vibrant colors carry you to the tropics. This delightful necklace is like a flower garland caught in time. 100% natural blooms are preserved in tough polyresin at the peak of their beauty. Combine them with Hill Tribes silver and cool serpentine for a look that chases the blues away.
Step 1
Open an oval jump ring, add a leaf, then close the jump ring. Repeat for all leaves.
Step 2
Cut a 3-foot piece of cord. Pass one end of the cord through the top loop of one large flower until the flower is in the center of the cord. Make a double knot.
Step 3
Measure about 2-inch to the right of the flower then make a knot. Repeat on the other side of the flower, making sure both knots are equal in distance from the flower.
Step 4
From either side of the cord, string on a serpentine rondelle, the jump ring on one pink leaf and another serpentine rondelle. Make a knot in the cord, but before pulling tight, work the knot down against the last rondelle added, keeping the grouping in place. Repeat this on the other side of the cord.
Step 5
Measure about 2-inch outward of either leaf grouping and make a knot. String on a serpentine rondelle, the jump ring on one red leaf, and a serpentine rondelle. Make a knot in the cord, but before pulling tight, work the knot down against the last rondelle added, keeping the grouping in place. Repeat this on the other side of the cord.
Step 6
Open a jump ring on one pink leaf. Link it through the bottom loop of the finding on the back of the center flower; close the jump ring. Repeat, adding a green leaf onto the loops next to the pink leaf.
Step 7
Repeat Steps 2 and 3.
Step 8
Repeat Step 6 adding leaves of your choice.
Step 9
Thread the top loop of the finding on the back of a small flower onto the cord. Position the flower about 3-inch from the center flower; make a double knot. Repeat, adding a small flower on the other side of the center flower.
Step 10
Cut a 2-1/2 inch length of cord; string on 11 serpentine rondelles.
Step 11
Lay all the cords onto your work surface and arrange in a pleasing order. Make a knot with all the cords, where the cords meet your collarbone.
Repeat on the other side. Hold the necklace against your neck to see if you like where all the cords rest--if so, you're almost there--if not, undo the knot and try again.
Step 12
String a Bali bead onto the cords and bring it down until it meets the knot made in Step 11. Make another knot and slide it down to meet the top of the Bali bead, holding it in place.
Step 13
Thread the loop of one half of your toggle onto the cords. Place it where you feel it will work best, then make a double knot to hold it in place.
Add a drop of adhesive to the knots; let dry. Repeat on the other half of the necklace, with the other half of your toggle.
Step 14
Thread an assortment of beads onto the end of each cord; use knots to hold the beads in place.
Your necklace is now complete--enjoy!
