Instructions
Dip the jaws of a pair of flat-nose pliers in Tool Magic® rubber tool dip. Let them dry overnight.
Cut one 10-inch length of ParaWire™ 20-gauge antiqued copper round wire.
Make a small loop in one end of the wire, then bend the tail of the wire upward so it is perpendicular to the loop. Use the flat-nose pliers dipped in Tool Magic to grip the loop and bend it up flat against the wire tail so the tail bisects the loop.
Thread a Celestial Crystal® 12mm golden blush AB round bead onto the wire. This will be the pumpkin in the design. Make a wrapped loop, leaving about 6mm of space for the wraps to make a “stem” on your pumpkin.
Bring the tail up loosely about 3/4 of the way around the stem. Then place the center of the barrel of round-nose piers under the tail right at the stem and start wrapping in a small spiral by bending the wire around the barrel with your fingers, spiraling in a downward motion. Allow the wraps to be spaced a bit apart. Complete three to four wraps.
Bring the tail back up the stem on the underside of the spiral, then halfway around the stem, to end on the right side of your spiral.
Bend the tail downward from the stem. Thread on a 9x8.5mm emerald green AB leaf bead so it rests at the bend in the tail of wire.
Bend the tail gently under the leaf so the leaf points a bit out and downward. Then bring the tail back around the stem.
Place the center of the barrel of your round-nose piers under the tail right at the stem and start wrapping in a small spiral by bending the wire around the barrel with your fingers, spiraling in a downward motion. Allow the wraps to be spaced a bit apart. Complete three to four wraps.
Cut off the tail when you’ve finished the smallest graduated wrap.
Tip: Don’t worry that these loose wraps don’t look neat. It’s intended to be a “messy wrap” look.
Cut a 1-1/2 inch length of ParaWire 20-gauge antiqued copper round wire. Make a simple loop in one end of the wire. Thread on a Celestial Crystal® 6mm emerald green round bead. Finish with a simple loop, inserting the wrapped loop atop the step of the pumpkin before you close the loop. Cut off the excess wire.
Attach a 19-gauge copper-plated fishhook ear wire to the simple loop on top of the drop you created in Step 8.
Repeat Steps 1 - 9 for the second earring.
