- Cord, Satinique™, satin, dark green, 2mm regular
- Cord, Satinique™, satin, rainbow, 2mm regular
- Chain, anodized aluminum, gold, 10mm curb
- Cord, imitation silk, medium green, 1mm
- Button, Czech glass and brass, iridescent sapphire blue and gold, 31mm round with dragonfly design
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the following lengths:
- Two 7-inch lengths of 10mm curb chain
- One 3-foot length of dark green 2mm Satinique cord
- One 6-foot length of rainbow 2mm Satinique cord
- One 8-inch length of medium green 1mm silk cord
Step
Create a loop, approximately 2 inches, on one end of the 3-foot length of dark green cord. Secure loop with one 8-inch length of medium green silk cord using a whipping knot.
Tip:
- The loop should be large enough to accommodate the clasp intended for the design.
- Glue may be used on the ends of the medium green silk to prevent fraying.
Step 3
Pass the opposite end of the dark green 2mm Satinique cord through the first link on one 7-inch length of 10mm curb chain. Continue to pass the cord through the first link on the second 7-inch length of curb chain.
Tie an overhand knot to secure both the first links and the cording.
Step 4
Continue to weave the dark green 2mm cording through each of the links on the first and second lengths of curb chain to connect them.
Tie an overhand knot to secure both the last links and the cording.
Tip: Leave the excess cord loose after the knot. This will be used in securing the clasp to the bracelet.
Step 5
Match up the ends of the 6-foot length of rainbow 2mm Satinique cord.
Starting at the first link on one length of curb chain, bring the length of the cord through three times.
Step 6
Continue to weave the cording through each link two times until the second to the last link on the first length of chain. Wrap the cording around the last link three times.
Tip: Leave the excess cord loose as this will be used to secure the bracelet.
Step 7
Repeat Steps 4 and 5 to weave the opposite side of cord.
Step 8
Using the excess cord from Step 4, string one 31mm round with dragonfly design button then tie an overhand knot.
Match up the previous cord, Step 4, with the remaining cords from Steps 5 - 7 then tie an overhand knot to secure the bracelet.
