Topics: Stringing Oval Beads

I made a necklace using large "pearl jade" oval shaped stones in the front; they were strung on beading wire. The stones do not lay flat on the chest/neck area. Is there any way to prevent this?

When using oval (teardrop and briolette beads as well), it is recommended that you string enough spacer beads in between to span the gap created by the wider portion of the beads, otherwise they will flip randomly. Spacer beads can be any bead you like or suits your design. They are typically smaller in size, ranging from 2 - 5mm and can be any shape from rondelle to round to square.
