Topics: Japanese Cylinder Beads
Q.
What is a Japanese cylinder bead and what size beads can be used in its place? Thanks.
- C.A.
A.
These Japanese seed beads have a very uniform, cylindrical profile as opposed to the more rounded Japanese and Czech seed beads. They have thin walls that allow many passes of thread, which is a great benefit for beadworkers. Delica® seed beads by Miyuki are available in a wide color selection and come in size 11. The size #11 or 11/0 means that there are approximately 11 seed beads in one inch. This will very depending on the actual size of the brand you are working with.
