Outside dimensions of beads are always given, how do you gauge the mm dimension of the center hole of say, the crow pony beads when it is not listed?

The average hole size on a pony bead is approximately 4.5mm but can range from 2 to 5.5mm, depending on the outside dimensions and the manufacturer. When looking at a Fire Mountain Gems and Beads catalog, you can use a caliper to measure the hole of the bead right on the page as the beads are actual size (unless specifically stated otherwise).
