According to the Chinese Zodiac, people born during the year of the horse are hard-working, intelligent, friendly and highly independent. But you don't have to be born in the year of the horse to appreciate the beauty of this multi-strand carved magnesite necklace.
String a dogbone bead onto an eyepin. Using round-nose pliers, bend the wire to form a 90 degree angle as close to the bead as possible. Trim the wire to approximately 1/4 inch using side-cutting pliers. Grip the very end of the wire with your round-nose pliers at a point approximately 1/8 inch down from the tip of the pliers. Roll the wire around the tip of the round-nose pliers to form a complete loop.
Repeat Step 1 to create a total of 36 dogbone links.
Open one jumpring then link on one side of the toggle clasp and one loop of one dogbone link. Close the jumpring. Attach another jumpring through the other loop of the dogbone link and add a second dogbone link to the jumpring.
Repeat Step 2 to make a single strand of eight dogbone links, ending with a jumpring.
Attach two dogbone links to the last jumpring. Add four dogbone links to each of the dogbone links added to the jumpring, to complete two strands of five dogbone links.
Repeat Step 3 for the other side of the necklace.
Connect the two inside strands of 5 dogbone links with a jumpring. Attach another jumpring to the connecting jumpring you just added. Attach the jumpring to the center of the magnesite carved drop.
Attach a jumpring to each of the two outside strands of the necklace. Attach an eyepin to each of the two jumprings. Run the length of each eyepin through the corresponding side hole of the pendant, curve them around so they meet the jumpring. Finish the end with a simple loop then attach the loop to the jumpring to complete.
